What an incredible experience everybody was super professional. I was a little worried at first because I’m so used to the doctors doing image work and MRIs and Dr. Padra. He literally just did an exam and we found the exact same spot that I got diagnosed, but then there was another spot with my SI joint, which I’ve never been told about which actually caused more pain than my other spot which was my lower back…. So we just did both and it’s been a week and I’m already feeling a difference. I’m hoping three week mark is gonna be the time where I really really start to feel it so thank you again. You guys were awesome. I will definitely be sending people to you and at some point come back when I need it. 🙂
Understanding Cerebral Palsy and Regenerative Treatment Options
Cerebral palsy is a group of neurological conditions that impact movement, muscle tone, and coordination, often due to brain injury during development. While traditional care focuses on symptom management, regenerative medicine provides promising new avenues for healing. Stem cell and PRP therapies aim to go beyond maintenance, helping to support recovery and enhance long-term quality of life.
The Role of PRP Therapy in CP Treatment
PRP therapy uses concentrated platelets from a patient’s own blood to deliver growth factors directly to areas of inflammation or degeneration. In individuals with cerebral palsy, PRP can:
- Relieve chronic pain or stiffness in joints and soft tissues
- Support healing in ligaments, tendons, and muscles
- Enhance outcomes of physical therapy and mobility interventions
While PRP may be used on its own, it is most effective when part of an integrated regenerative care plan involving stem cell therapy.

How Stem Cell Therapy Helps Cerebral Palsy Patients
Dr. Nourparvar utilizes autologous mesenchymal stem cells–collected from a patient’s own bone marrow or adipose (fat) tissue–to help support neural repair. These cells are processed and administered via targeted ultrasound-guided injections, with potential benefits including:
- Stimulating neuron regeneration and synaptic growth
- Reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in affected tissues
- Enhancing brain plasticity and motor coordination
- Supporting muscle strength and mobility
Clinical studies suggest that up to 65% of patients with cerebral palsy report improvement in physical function, posture, and daily living activities following stem cell therapy, particularly when combined with ongoing therapy and movement-based rehabilitation.
Research Papers: Advancing Evidence-Based Treatment
- Stem Cells International (2021): Autologous MSCs improved spasticity and mobility in pediatric CP patients over a 12-month period.
- Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair (2020): PRP injections reduced joint pain and increased flexibility in individuals with neurogenic muscle contracture.
- Frontiers in Pediatrics (2019): Combined biologic therapies showed improved gross motor function in early-intervention CP cases.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
Yes. The use of autologous stem cells significantly lowers risk. Treatments are performed using minimally invasive methods and guided imaging to ensure comfort and precision.
-
Most patients begin noticing changes within 4-8 weeks, with continued improvement over 6-12 months.
-
Treatment plans typically include 1 to 3 sessions, spaced over time based on individual response and progress.
-
PRP may be used independently to reduce inflammation or manage pain, but for neurological improvement, it is often paired with stem cell therapy.
-
Currently, most insurers consider stem cell and PRP therapies for CP investigational. Our clinic offers detailed pricing, flexible payment plans, and support for financial planning.
-
While results vary, patients with spastic, dyskinetic, and ataxic CP may benefit from regenerative treatment. Dr. Nourparvar conducts thorough assessments to ensure appropriate care.
-
Absolutely. We serve families across Southern California and provide concierge support for travel, accommodations, and follow-up care.
