The Difference

Treatments at other Clinics :

"Patch up" treatments like, addicting pain medications, Steroid injection, surgery (many side effects including weight gain & increased blood sugar, damage to kidneys, heart, stroke & gastric ulcer from NSAIDs.)

May not know how to use ultrasound during the injections which is very critical in ensuring a safe & accurate injection. May use xray with unnecessary radiation for injections instead of ultrasound.

PRP & Sonic wave (ESWT) not used to enhance the effects of Stem Cells.

May not offer option of different bone stem cell types. (only offer drilling bones or low quality umbilical stem cells.)

May use poorly trained non-physician assistants to evaluate & perform injections.

Not FDA compliant.

Treatments at Our Clinic :

Treating the root cause of the problem by regenerating and repairing the damaged regions. Good safety profile with body products from own body.

Precision ultrasound guided injection to joints without any radiation to ensure safe delivery of stem cells & PRP to the correct location. (Shown to increase positive results by 20-40% vs. without ultrasound)

Other modalities like PRP & Sonic Wave use to focus on the whole joint and treating different parts of it instead of just treating one out of several diseased structures in the joint.

Several types of stem cell including Adipose (fat), bone marrow and umbilical cord derived options available.

Needle Free Air-Jet Pain pre Injections option.

We perform our procedures at a private Room by Medical Office Towers* in Los Angeles, with easy access to many Hospitals, Ranked in the top 10 USA Hospitals.

Research Papers

For years, we have done thorough research, gathered results data of patients, and gotten reviews from patients, all with a single purpose in mind – to give you adequate information that will allow you make the best decision with regards to treatment of your condition.

1. Platelet-rich plasma for the management of hip and knee osteoarthritis

Knee and hip osteoarthritis (OA) are major public health problems worldwide causing pain, disability and impaired quality of life. This narrative paper discusses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a treatment for hip and knee OA, with a focus on evidence from randomised controlled trials (RCTs). Link to study >>>>> Here

2. Mesenchymal stem cell therapy in the treatment of hip osteoarthritis

This study was performed to investigate the safety and efficacy of the intra-articular infusion of ex vivo expanded autologous bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSC) to a cohort of patients with articular cartilage defects in the hip. The above rationale is sustained by the notion that MSCs express a chondrocyte differential potential and produce extracellular matrix molecules as well as regulatory signals that may well contribute to cure the function of the damaged hip joint. A cohort of 10 patients with functional and radiological evidences of hip osteoarthritis, either in one or both legs, was included in the study. BM-MSC (the cell product) were prepared and infused into the damaged articulation(s) of each patient (60 × 106 cells in 3 weekly/doses). Before and after completion of the cell infusion scheme, patients were evaluated (hip scores for pain, stiffness, physical function, range of motion), to assess whether the infusion of the respective cell product was beneficial. The intra-articular injection of three consecutive weekly doses of ex vivo expanded autologous BM-MSC to patients with articular cartilage defects in the hip and proved to be a safe and clinically effective treatment in the restoration of hip function and range of motion. In addition, the statistical significance of the above data is in line with the observation that the radiographic scores (Tönnis Classification of Osteoarthritis) of the damaged leg(s) remained without variation in 9 out of 10 patients, after the administration of the cell product. 3. High-energy extracorporeal shock wave therapy for nontraumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head

Nontraumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is treated with a series of methods. High-energy extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is an option with promising mid-term outcomes. The objective of this study was to determine the long-term outcomes of ESWT for ONFH. Fifty-three hips in 39 consecutive patients were treated with ESWT in our hospital between January 2005 and July 2006. Forty-four hips in 31 patients with stage I-III nontraumatic ONFH, according to the Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) system, were reviewed in the current retrospective study. The visual analog pain scale (VAS), Harris hip score, radiography, and magnetic resonance imaging were used to estimate treatment results. The progression of ONFH was evaluated by imaging examination and clinical outcomes. The results were classified as clinical success (no progression of hip symptoms) and imaging success (no progression of stage or substage on radiography and MRI). The results of the current study indicated that ESWT is an effective treatment method for nontraumatic ONFH, resulting in pain relief and function restoration, especially for patients with ARCO stage I-II ONFH. 4. Extracorporeal shockwave for hip necrosis in systemic lupus erythematosus.

Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) frequently received corticosteroid therapy, resulting in osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Prior studies demonstrated the effectiveness of extracorporeal shockwave treatment (ESWT) for ONFH. This study evaluated the effectiveness of ESWT for ONFH in patients with SLE. We studied 39 patients, including 15 patients with SLE (26 hips) and 24 controls (29 hips). To each affected hip we applied ESWT (6000 impulses at 28 kV in a single session). Patients were ambulated with partial weight bearing for 4-6 weeks. The primary endpoint was the need for hip replacement. The secondary endpoints were improvement in hip pain and function and image changes on X-ray and MRI. Patients received total hip replacement in 12% of patients with SLE and in 14% of controls (P = 0.802). There was no statistically significant difference in pain scores (0.86 vs. 0.89; P = 0.467) and function scores (89% vs. 91%; P = 0.194) between patients with SLE and controls. SLE response to ESWT for ONFH is comparable with ONFH in patients without SLE. Link to study >>>>> Here

Review & Testimonials/Case Examples

“I’m 73 yo and have torn meniscus and OA. 3 orthos told me I needed knee replacement. Heard about stem cell and had umbilical stem cells injected then my PRP injected a month later. My knee doesn’t hurt nor buckle any more. It does still get ‘tired’ and a little sore but it’s only been about 6 wks since stem cells. … I still have personal trainers but all exercises are done while I’m seated.”

Bobbi S.

“I am receiving treatment for severe osteoarthritis of right ankle.

I have previously consulted two surgeons and was a considered a candidate for ankle fusion with no cartilage left in my ankle. . My mobility problems was getting severe but ankle fusion was terrifying due to permanent lame condition that would result with a “successful” outcome to control pain.

I have been treated with PRP followed 6 weeks later by autologous stem cells from fatty tissue taken from my mid-riff, then PRP again after another 6 weeks.

5 months after the initial treatment I have improved greatly with regard to pain and functioning of my ankle. I used to walk with difficulty, for limited distances and use a cane. Now I only use a cane if I am going for a very long walk or a hike.”

Introduction About the Topic

It is hard to deal with hip pain on daily basis especially when you do not know the underlying causes. Surgical methods for treating hip pain include hip resurfacing and hip replacement surgery. Hip surgeries are usually traumatic and are accompanied by pain and discomfort. It is worthy of note that these surgical procedures reduces mobility and strength in the individual.

At our facility, we have adopt a technique known as Interventional Orthopedic. This technique involves the use of ultrasound and fluoroscopy to accurately place stem cells where they are required. These cells will then get to work, rebuilding damaged tissue, and forming new, healthy tissue. Of course this only happens if the cells are placed where they need to be, and that’s what we do. You cannot get this level of care in a regular chiropractor’s office. To practice Interventional Orthopedics, one must undergo thousands of training hours. Our specialists have attained that!

This innovative procedure will restore your mobility and hip function, and reduce the intensity of the pain by reviving the damaged tissue. Our specialists use precise image guidance to inject embryological stem cells into the affected areas to stabilize and tighten your hip joint. This will boost your mobility.

Hip labral tear

Our ball-and-socket joints are surrounded by a type of cartilage known as the labrum. It is readily found in the joints of the hip and the shoulder. The labrum makes the joint stable by deepening the socket, and also allowing flexibility and motion.

Labral injuries causes a lot of discomfort and pain. Labral injuries occur mostly in the shoulders. Lots of research has been done on the possible treatments of labral injuries. With advances in arthroscopic techniques, for surgical management of the hip joint, more people get to know about hip labral tears.

Hip labral tears are of two types- we have the degenerative tear and the traumatic tear.

The degenerative tear occurs due to persistent use. It is very evident in the initial stage of hip arthritis.

On the other hand, the traumatic tear is an acute condition that occurs during a fall, an accident, or a sports injury.

Hip labral tears are also seen during subluxation or hip dislocation.

Hip osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is one of the major forms of hip arthritis. It is also referred to as degenerative joint disease or wear-and-tear arthritis. The major feature of hip arthritis is progressive degradation of the joint cartilage. As the cartilage wears away, the bare bone gets exposed.

Hip osteoarthritis occurs mainly in people above 50 years of age. It has a high prevalence among obese patients. Symptoms are alleviated by weight loss. Genetics also contributes to it. This means that an individual with a family history of the disease is likely to get it. Other factors that play a role in the onset of hip osteoarthritis include fractures and injuries to the hip.

Hip tendon tears

There are quite a number of tendons in the hip region. These tissues establish a connection between muscles and hip bones. With these, movements of the hip and the leg are stabilized. Tendons are connective tissues, but non-elastic. Frequent use and aging makes it to become brittle. Repetitive use of the tendon causes injury. Injury also arises when a blow is done to the hip. It may also result from injuries that are not fully healed. Athletes have a high risk of hip tendon tears.

Current Treatment at Other Clinics

Current treatment of hip involves using medications for pain, steroid injection, hip surgery and physical therapy which can temporary alleviate the pain.   These treatments are considered a patch up of the problem without treating the root cause of the problem.  Medications & steroids have many side effects including weight gain & increased blood sugar from steroids, damage to kidneys, heart, stroke & gastric ulcer from NSAIDs.  Surgery can be very debilitating with prolong downtime during recovery requiring at times prolonged bed rest & even residing in nursing home for recovery.  It also entails a lot of risk including risk of infection, bleeding, poor surgical outcome to name a few.  At many times surgery fails to alleviate the pain.  Stem cells however, reduce the inflammation and pain that are typical of these conditions. They also work to regenerate and repair the damaged regions 2. Current research on the effect of stem cells in pain management has shown positive results.

We are different from many other clinics who offer stem cell or PRP.   Other clinics may not use ultrasound during the injections which is very critical in ensuring a safe & accurate injection.  They may also not offer option of bone marrow derived stem cell, Adipose derived stem cell & umbilical cord stem cell.  They in effect expose patients to more invasive treatments like drilling bones without offering other easier options.  They also may use xray with unnecessary radiation for injections that can be easily avoided in most cases by using ultrasound.  Furthermore, they may not have proper knowledge of how PRP & Sonic wave (ESWT) can enhance the effects of Stem Cells.  These other modalities are used by us to focus on the whole joint and treating different parts of it instead of just treating one out of several diseased structures in the joint.

Safe Non Surgical Option

We use a combination of newest cutting edge technology in regenerative medicine to stimulate body’s own repair ability to reverse aging and damage.   We use a careful combination of Stem Cells, PRP and Sonic Waves (ESWT) as part of treatment plan designed by the doctor to treat the body.    These are safe investigational treatments that have shown very promising & safe results in thousands of treatments over the 10-20 years in Europe and USA.   They don’t involve using any medications or drugs.

What Does ESWT, PRP & Stem Cell Therapy Do?

The researchers believe that the therapy works by:

Releasing cytokines into the body to prevent further damage to cartilage and reduce pain and inflammation.

Preventing inflammation that can make osteoarthritis worse.

Creating healthy new cartilage tissues.

Many patients experience improvements in the treated area and other areas, like in a Mayo Clinic study where patients benefited in both knees after experiencing injections in only one.

Stem cell therapy for hip

We offer stem cell therapy for hip osteoarthritis. It is a non-surgical procedure, and a perfect alternative to hip replacement surgery. With our stem cell therapy, you will experience relief from your hip problem. Embryological stem cells are harvested and injected to the affected area. This injections will enhance your body’s self-repair process.

At our facility, we offer both stem cell injections and platelet rich plasma therapy to help with tissue and muscular damage in the hips. These are very good alternatives to surgery that involves the use of embryological stem cells rather than that derived from adult bone marrow.

Platelet rich plasma therapy for hip

Platelet rich plasma therapy is also helpful for hip osteoarthritis. This involves the use of your own blood to facilitate the healing process. With platelet rich therapy, your hip feels and works better.

PRP begins with drawing a small sample of your blood. This is then placed in a centrifuge and spun. The centrifugation process separates the blood into different fragments – the platelets, red cells, white cells, and the plasma. We will then concentrate the platelet and mix it with a little bit of the plasma. The outcome of this mixture is what is known as platelet rich plasma.

This PRP will be injected into the affected tissues by our specialists. Upon injection, your immune system gets to work. Macrophages are called to action and they flush out the damaged cells. This prepares the affected site for the healing process. Thereafter, the stem cells begin to replicate, along with other cells. Over time, the damaged tissues are rebuilt and repaired.

ESWT for hip

ESWT is an acronym for Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy. It is a non-invasive method of treating injuries on soft tissues. Shock wave is a high-intensity energy wave that travels at a velocity faster than that of sound. The biological effects of this wave enhances tissue regeneration. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy stimulates the pain nerves excessively, thus reducing sensitivity and pain. It also kick-starts the body repair mechanism by enhancing vasculogenesis – the formation of new blood vessels. The shockwave also promotes the healing of bones, and production of new bones.

What makes our facility special?

At our Los Angeles facility, we have invented modern approaches to orthopedic care. Our approach to treatment is second to none. The harvesting process does not involve any form of drilling, and the stem cells are purified and tested for quality before injection. We also employ ultrasound to help in the precise placement of high dose stem cells at the required site. These cells will then perform their duty, promoting the formation of new tissues. Please note that this process only occurs if the cells have been injected to the exact site. We are experts in this and has seen positive outcome with our treatments. Our licensed physicians have undergone intense training running into thousands of hours, and so, you can be sure that you are in safe hands.
